Changing the meaning of E.D.L.
Soon it will stand for English Disco Lovers and not English Defence League.
I don’t much care for disco to be perfectly honest. But I don’t hate it. In fact, the older I get the more I realise that there is no point in hating music. Any music. Don’t get me wrong, I still hate listening to most rap, jungle, and manufactured pop. But as far as I am concerned if you waste your time getting angry about Justin Bieber or Nicky Minaj, then you are suffering. It certainly doesn’t affect them.
But I do hate racist bigots. And the English Defence League are just that. They may try to pretend that they are preserving our English way of life but all they do is taint our national flag which we should be allowed to be proud of.
I’m not going to go into the fine details of what I believe about immigration etc, although I am not in favour of a complete free for all either. Suffice to say, I think the main three parties are somewhere around the right area in this respect.
However, it is always fun to support a cause that has been set up to laugh in the face of bigotry and the English Disco Lovers have done just that. The brainchild of somebody with a sense of humour and of fair play, he or she decided to set up a facebook page to get more LIKES than the other EDL.
Shortly after that they set up a website with the objective of getting higher in Google’s rankings than the bigoted version for the search term EDL, and they are now pretty close to making it.
So good for The English Disco Lovers, I wish them every success. Please share the link on any website that you control or on your social media, if you haven’t already.http://www.edl.me/
