Beatles tribute evening at The Palladium Bideford
Muzo Collective of North Devon put on fundraising gig of Beatles covers with a host of musical talent from all over the country.
An idea conceived by Howard Wilson Robinson, and suggested via a facebook group, has turned into a big event taking place at one of North Devon’s premier live music venues. The Palladium in Bideford plays host to the event on Sunday 28th July, and will feature a huge line up of local talent, all paying homage to the greatest rock and pop band of all time. (Yes even better than One Direction, children!)
Among the songs planned are Come Together, Birthday, Drive My Car, I Saw Her Standing There, Taxman, Blackbird, Sgt. Pepper, A Little Help From My Friends, Paperback Writer, Eleanor Rigby, Revolution, A Day In The Life, Daytripper, She Loves You, Get Back, and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.
As well as those superb songs, you can expect to see your’s truly, performing the Medley from Abbey Road.
I have got together with Samantha Chalkley (guitar/vocals) and James Walden (drums) of Red Kite, and Harvey Hudson (guitar) and Nathan Layland (bass) of Badly Worn Toy, and Peter Bradshaw (keyboards (not bass)) of Psylum and Falling Apart.
We plan to take on all fifteen minutes of musical brilliance and diversity as laid down on the album “Abbey Road” with only a teeny bit of editing; “You Never Give Me Your Money” – “Sun King” – “Mean Mr. Mustard” – “Polythene Pam” – “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window” – “Golden Slumbers” – “Carry That Weight” – “The End” – and, if I have my way, “Her Majesty”
I’m sure there will be more details to add to this, like how and where to buy tickets, etc. I will amend this as and when I get that stuff.
