I need your help please
Which track by an unsigned artist
should I play on the radio?
I have been learning how to be a radio presenter on The Voice North Devon.
This is a digital station based (obviously) in North Devon and will soon be starting up with an FM frequency as well.
I have been offered the chance to stand in for a DJ who is away and cover for his entire four hour show on Wednesday 19th June from 18.00 – 22.00 (BST)
So I asked if I could be allowed to play at least one song by an unsigned band of my choice and the answer was YES.
Now I need your help to decide which song to play.
I have managed to narrow it down to one of only a handful and here they are.
Pear Cider, by Bison
Smiling Makes The Day Go Quicker, by Tankus The Henge
Part Time Philosopher, by Troy Faid
Or perhaps something else? But I have already been torn by trying to narrow it down. Please bear in mind, if this show goes reasonably well, then there will be further opportunities in the future, and therefore more chances to play unsigned bands.
The station already supports the local unsigned scene and I intend to push for more of that, but also hope that they will eventually allow me to put together a specific unsigned show, but “softly softly catch your monkey” as they say.
So please comment below with your favourite of these three, or at least the one which you think will appeal most instantly to a broad based listenership. Thanks in advance.
If you want to listen to the show you can do so in a number of ways.
- In the North Devon area you should be able to find it on any DAB digital radio
- Worldwide you can listen online at http://www.thevoicefm.co.uk/
- Also worldwide you can listen via any Android or iPhone or other smartphone using an appropriate radio app such as TuneIn which is a free download on Android phones. (Unfortunately if you are using an iPhone you will have to pay $1.99 or equivalent for it. Another reason why Android phones outnumber Appe by at least three to one)
